Moral Story ‣ The Ant and the Grasshopper

296

There was a green field in a village where lived an ant and a grasshopper.

One summer day the grasshopper was very happily chirping and singing to its heart’s content.

The ant with great effort was trying to bring a piece of corn to its nest.

“Hey ant! Why not you come and sing me, after all it’s a hot sunny day” said the grasshopper.

“I am helping to lay up food for the coming winter and recommend you to do the same,” said the ant.

“Why bother about the winter coming in future? We have got plenty of food at present” grasshopper replied laughing at the ant.

But the ant did not listen to the grasshopper and went on its way continuing its toil.

After few weeks, the winter season came with heavy snow and the whole field was covered with snow.

Grasshopper could not see any green grass and found itself dying of hunger.

It saw the ant was happily spending time inside its nest eating the food it saved during summer days.

Then the grasshopper knew, work hard today and save something for tomorrow!!!

If you do not save anything today, then you need to die hard tomorrow for survival.

Moral of the Story: Don’t forget to prepare for bad times, even during good times.
