Moral Story ‣ The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs

Once upon a time, a man and his wife were living in poverty struggling for their daily food.

One day they found a little goose on the road and took along with them.

Even in their poverty they feed food to the goose.

Days passed by and the goose became big and started laying golden egg every day.

This changed the fortune of the family and the man and his wife became rich in the city.

Lucky though they were, the man’s wife soon began to think they were not getting rich fast enough.

She told the man, “If the bird must be able to lay golden eggs every day, there should be lot of golden eggs inside”.

The man said, “Yes, you are right! We don’t need to wait every day!

And they thought that if they could get all that precious golden eggs at once, they would get mighty rich very soon.

So the man and his wife decided to kill the bird.

However, upon cutting the goose open, they were shocked to find that its insides were like that of any other goose.

Moral of the Story: Greedy will make you lose what you have, think before your greedy action.
